Craigieburn was originally built in 1887 as a private country homestead and operated as a grazing property until 1909. The property was sold and re-established as a country retreat and guest house and maintained an enviable reputation as one of the Southern Highlands premiere guest houses with families returning each year from first to third generations. Many famous guests have visited over the years, but of course Craigieburn remains discreet.
Celebrating 94 years of operation Craigieburn proudly opened its doors in 2003 with a multi million dollar facelift. Reflecting the style and elegance of the original Craigieburn the transformation of the interiors with stylish modern décor and artworks will ensure Craigieburn will retain its recognition as one of the Southern Highlands premiere venues for leisure stays, conferencing, weddings and retreats.
The 90 acre country estate boasts its own private 9 hole golf course for exclusive guest use and new guest facilities will include a trout filled lake for fly fishing, gymnasium, billiards room and Purity beauty therapy room.
The conference facility and function room upgrades include a choice of two rooms with natural light and French doors opening onto landscaped gardens and terraces. A third room is ideal as a secretariat room, breakout space or use as a private dining or boardroom. An internal undercover courtyard will provide one of many unique spaces for conference or guest use.
