The Tropical Wanderer Resort is situated on the Bruce Highway, 394 Yaamba Rd, in North Rockhampton opposite the Autobarn .The Resort is set in 10 acres of award-winning tropically landscaped gardens with 5000+ Palms represented by over 90 species. We are also heavily landscaped with exotic Bromeliad rock gardens, nature walks, waterfalls and water features which give the Resort a peaceful tranquillity - perfect for a relaxing stay with us!! You will feel like you are in a rainforest but we are located only 800m from the biggest shopping centre in Rockhampton, Stockland Plaza. We also have food outlets, newsagency, butcher, hairdresser, and a convenience store within 300m of our entrance.
The Resort is part of the Big4 Holiday Park and Best Western International Chains as well as being a member of the RACQ Show Your Card and Save Program. We offer a large variety of accommodation together with a small to medium Conference and Function Centre, a beautiful Restaurant setting for dinner and functions, and our outdoor Shorty’s Bistro open 7 days. Our Pool and Outdoor Bistro area are also available for functions or weddings.
The Big4 Holiday Park has 110 Caravan & Camping Sites, and 46 villas and cabins ranging from standard cabins with no en-suite to 2 bedroom Spa Villas. We have two recently refurbished amenity blocks with access to a bathroom & Kiddies bath, 2 laundries and a free gas BBQ area with sinks and a bar fridge. The Best Western Motel has 29 rooms, 10 with kitchens, as well as a motel laundry.
We have numerous entertainment facilities with two swimming pools and a wading pool, half court tennis court, TV & Games room with computer games and ping pong. We also have a playground centre which boasts a mini golf course (9 hole), 2 newly installed jumping pillows and a grass area. The reception contains a mini-mart, 2 internet machines and tourist information facilities. We also have a movie projector that shows latest release movies every night.
